Garage Sale Day!
Woo hoo! Our first garage sale is finished. My sister and I were up until 1:00 this morning setting up for the big sale. We are really fortunate that our parents have an enormous garage. We were able to set up all of our tables indoors, and considering how chilly and windy it was, that was a total blessing.
We had sooo much stuff! It was absolutely unbelieveable. Even more amazing was how much we got rid of today! I wish I would have taken before and after photos! The sale was supposed to start at 8:00, but folks started showing up at 7:15. We were still putting a few things out, but we were thrilled with how many sales we had made by 8:00. The sale was busy all morning! In fact, it got a bit overwhelming sometimes. We were hardpressed to keep up with our line of customers.
So, here it is! The grand total! Okay, I don't really have an exact grand total, because our calculations were off a bit, but Roger and I brought home over $700! We are thrilled! The most incredible thing about that is that we didn't even have any large furniture to sell. Our most expensive individual sold item was $25. Overall, the sale brought in over $1100. That is the biggest garage sale we have ever had.
It was so worth all the effort and hardwork. I can hardly wait to make my car payment! (Now, who ever says that??) We are getting so close to paying it off, and then we can move on to the next debt on our list. We are going to conquer this problem!
We will be having another garage sale the first weekend in June. This one will be at our house as part of the citywide sale in our town. The good thing is that most of our stuff is already priced. It's just sitting in the storage unit waiting to be hauled to our yard.

Wow, good for you, Becky! I only had one yard sale and it wasn't all that successful and definitely not worth the work. Glad yours was.
