5 years ago today...
5 years ago today, I was in a cozy little hospital room waiting for the arrival of our very first little boy. I can't believe that Connor is turning 5 today. He'll be heading off to kindergarten this fall. Not being a stay-at-home mom, I'm hoping this transition will not be as traumatic for me as it would be if I stayed home with him everyday. However, I still feel like he is growing up too fast, and that is difficult!
We had a hard time getting him out of bed this morning, until Roger mentioned presents. Then, he stumbled out of bed zombie-style and was wide awake by the time he ripped the wrapping paper off of his Matchbox shark playset. He's been wanting this for a very long time, so he was excited! There will be more presents tonight and this weekend. He's having a dinosaur bowling party on Saturday. We're taking him to Applebee's for supper tonight.
The cutest thing he said this morning was, "Am I 5 now?" I said, "Yes! You are!" He was so, so excited! He headed off to daycare with a container of cupcakes, dinosaur eggs for the class and special present for Miss Amanda, his teacher whose birthday is today, too! Can't wait to hear how the party went!
